What is the Fibonacci Sequence?
The Fibonacci Sequence is a series of numbers where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones:0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, ...
When these numbers are used to create shapes or proportions, they form a spiral called the Golden Ratio (approximately 1.618). This ratio is found EVERYWHERE—from nature to art, architecture, and graphic design!
How is Fibonacci Used in Design?
Creating Balance: The Golden Ratio helps designers create layouts, logos, and compositions that feel naturally balanced and pleasing to the eye.
Logo Design: Many famous logos (like Twitter, Apple, and Pepsi) incorporate the Fibonacci sequence to achieve harmony and proportion.
Typography and Layouts: Using Fibonacci proportions for font sizes, grids, or spacing creates a clear visual hierarchy.
Nature-Inspired Aesthetics: The Fibonacci spiral mirrors the patterns seen in seashells, sunflowers, and galaxies, giving designs an organic, timeless feel.
Next Time You Design:
Try applying Fibonacci numbers or the Golden Ratio to your grid, spacing, or composition—it will immediately elevate the look of your work!
🔎 Fun Fact: Leonardo da Vinci often used the Golden Ratio in his masterpieces like Mona Lisa.
